Amongst all the practicality of owning a Land Rover, whether it is used simply to go to and from work or to transport tools which you need for your work, or maybe used as a farm hack, for moving heavy machinery, or just for fun, off roading is one pursuit which many Land Rover owners pursue.
This is what the versatile Land Rover was designed to do and pushing your old series 2 or a more modern Defender to extremes is not just enjoyable, it’s also great fun.
1986 ex MOD 110 soft top. With the reliable, faithful but fairly sluggish 2.5 normally aspirated diesel, it is possible to do fairly competitive off roading on a low budget.
1990 ex MOD 110 soft top. This time its a 110 V8 soft top getting muddy. The super smooth torque from the V8 pulls it effortlessly through the mud. Drawback is getting water on the ignition system.
