The Defender,which wasfirstintroduced as the 90 and 110, has now been on and off our roads since 1983.
That makes it an incredible 28 years since the launch of this iconic vehicle and the Defender is still as much loved today as it was when first seen as the 110 all those years ago.
The smaller, nimbler and more agile lighter 90 was introduced a couple of years later in 1984 and completed the new coil sprung range which finally replaced the also well loved but aged leaf sprung series 3, 88 and 109inch.
As with the 110, the 90 was eagerly accepted by waiting customers.
The Defender has become something of a British “icon”, recognised everywhere.
